Shenghai Li 李勝海
is Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at National Taiwan University. He received his PhD from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a lecturer at UW-Madison and worked as a fellow at Israel Institute for Advanced Studies and as a researcher at Fudan University.
Shenghai Li studies Indian and Tibetan Buddhism, and he specializes in Madhyamaka and other Buddhist philosophical traditions.
His has published his research on Buddhist philosophy as well as Sanskrit Buddhist literature and poetics in philosophy, religion, and Asian studies journals and as book chapters.
He is the main contributor to a new Chinese translation (Oak Tree Publishing Co., 2021) of Tsongkhapa’s earliest major Madhyamaka work: the “Special Insight” section of The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path.
